Hey, Oppo. Although I’ve been lurking on Oppo for 3 years now, I just joined (and was granted authorship) thanks to the help of some very friendly Opponauts. I wanted to formally introduce myself to everyone.

My name is BlueMazda2 on OppositeLock. I am a 16 year old junior in high school here in  Florida. Unfortunately, I don’t have my driver’s license yet, but I’m working on that. I am from Colombia. I also speak Spanish, English, and French fluently. I am currently learning German.

When I’m not on Oppo or Jalopnik, you can find me browsing Cars.com or AutoTrader. I am currently beginning to look for a first car. I really want something German. I love BMWs. I really do. I also love Alfa Romeos, except for the fact that the 159 and Brera were never sold here.

Although I don’t have a license here, I do, however, have one in Colombia. This past summer, I had the opportunity to drive some amazing cars, most of which aren’t sold in the U.S. I drove a 2008 Mazda2 Sport (the one in my profile picture), a 2011 Toyota Fortuner SRV D4-D 3.0, a 2013 Mazda2 Sedan, a 2014 BMW 316i, a 2013 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid, a 2011 Alfa Romeo 159 2.2 JTS Selespeed, a 2013 Ford F150 SVT Raptor, a 2014 Ford Mustang GT, and a 1984 Renault 4 (Master, I think).

Although my parents think I’m too old for them, I love diecast cars of all shapes and sizes. From 1/18 to 1/87 scale, I have them. I especially love foreign brands such as Tomica, Siku, Welly, and Bburago. I also love Hot Wheels and Matchbox. I have a pretty large collection, my favorite being a Matchbox 2008 Mazda 2 in Dark Blue Gloss that my dad bought me when I was in the hospital years ago.

One of my other passions is listening to music. I love 70s and 80s music. When I was younger, my father and I listened to older music when he used to take me to his office (he’s a Realtor). In 2008, when I first watched The Spy Who Loved Me, I not only fell in love with the Lotus Esprit and Roger Moore, but with Carly Simon and her music. Since then, I’ve ventured deeply into the world of music circa 1970-1989. My favorite song is “All Time High” by Rita Coolidge (Yes, the theme song from the movie Octopussy) followed by Carly Simon’s “Nobody Does It Better.” I also really love Duran Duran. Quite a lot. “A View To A Kill” is my third favorite song.

For my future, I either want to be a designer for BMW or a lawyer. Either one works out for me. Drawing is one of my main hobbies/passions. I currently play Forza Motorsport 4 on the XBOX 360 due to the fact that I refuse to switch to next-gen for now. It’s a fun game. 3 years and $50 in DLC later and I’m still not tired of it. I don’t, however, play on XBOX Live. I just don’t really like it.

As you may have read from my name, I am an Alfista. I love Alfa Romeo. My favorite 3 are the 2011 159 TI Sportwagon 3.2 V6 JTS Q4 Q-Tronic, the 2010 Brera TI 3.2 V6 JTS Q4, and the 1983 GTV-6 2.5 ( like the one in Octopussy). I also love BMWs. My favorites being the 2011 1 Series M Coupe, the 2012 328i, the 1994 525i, the 1995 M5, and the 1992 750iL. I really love the Mazda 2 in case you couldn’t tell by my name. Especially in blue.

As I learned from Top Gear, every man has a dream 10 car garage. I’m no exception.

Thank you. I really like the 2.0 TwinPower Turbo paired with the 8 Speed Auto. Also, it comes with 17 inch wheels as standard. The 335 is great and all, but I'd rather get the M235i or a manual F10 535i. It was a pleasure meeting you.

the only thing my parents gave me as a requirement was that it must have an automatic, which I wanted a stick, but no luck convincing them. I have front airbags, 2 tons of weight, an underpowered V6 and that is it.

Tip: if you ever buy a mid-size or large SUV, make sure it has more than 215 hp for a 4000 lb vehicle, or else you will be accelerating slower than molasses.

My mom previously owned a 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LS with the Vortec 4200 inline 6. 275 hp. That was a great car. It weighed around 4500lbs. What an engine. I miss the damn thing. She traded it in for a CPO 2012 Focus SEL in Jan. 2013. It was way too small for a family. We traded it in for a new 2014 VW Passat 1.8T Wolfsburg Edition in June.

Yes, English is my preferred language. I just started taking French this year. All I really know right now are, the alphabet, numbers 1-30, greetings/farewells, how to ask someone's name, etc. Nice to meet you too!

French 1 was great. Ah, the memories. I'm in French 4 Honors right now. It's boring. The only things I've learned on my own are automotive terms in French. I wish schools offered German as a class. Thanks, Florida. It certainly is a pleasure to have met you.

Good ol' Bugs Bunny cutting to the chase (pun intended). Spanish is my native tongue. I'm Colombian, so I couldn't really be a point of reference. My friends all took Spanish for the mandatory 2 years, and then dropped it. French is easy thanks to Spanish. I'd say Spanish is easier, but French is way cooler.
